Veterans Independence Program (VIP)

Supporting Veterans to Live Independently at Home.

Prairie Comfort Homecare is proud to be a registered service provider for Veterans Affairs Canada’s Veterans Independence Program (VIP). Through our provider registration with Medavie Blue Cross, we can support eligible Veterans who have approved VIP benefits and, where applicable, submit eligible service claims directly to Medavie Blue Cross.

The Veterans Independence Program is designed to help eligible Veterans remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes and communities by providing funding toward services based on their individual needs.

Direct Billing for Approved Services

If you are an eligible Veteran with approved VIP benefits, Prairie Comfort Homecare can work with the applicable Veterans Affairs Canada and Medavie Blue Cross processes to submit eligible claims directly, where direct billing is available.
This can make accessing approved home-care services easier and help reduce the need for the Veteran or family to manage reimbursement paperwork.

Important: VIP coverage is based on individual eligibility, assessed need, approved benefits, authorization requirements, and applicable program rates. Not every service is automatically covered, and approval should be confirmed before services begin.
